Towards the end of my career at Hyperloop One, I wanted to learn new skills that were technical yet design-adjacent, and front end development fulfilled both desires.
Working for a fast-paced, high-profile company for over eight years refined my interpersonal skills, ability to learn on the fly, composure, and drive for results. Transitioning to a startup company and being there for six years taught me how to work in a lean IT team from wearing several hats to dealing with ambiguity.
Creating a fun work environment has been a passion of mine. At Apple Retail, we organized stay-ahead training for peers that was engaging and enjoyable. At Hyperloop One, we organized employee-run activities, such as Super Smash Bros during lunch and movie viewings after work. We also planned and budgeted company sponsored events like Halloween parties and team building.
I'm a rock climber, hiker, camper, and backpacker. I land somewhere between type 1 and 2 fun. If you don't know the fun scale, type 1 fun is having fun the whole time you're doing it and type 2 fun is not fun while you're doing it, but rewarding after you're done.
